Personal Watersheds - June 18, 2022 - Sept 16, 2022

  • Mississippi Watershed Management Organization 2522 Marshall Street Northeast Minneapolis, MN, 55418 United States (map)

Join artist Sarah Nassif and MWMO staff for the opening of Personal Watersheds, an interactive fiber art exhibit and installation that celebrates the Mississippi River and our personal connections to it.

Learn about this summer’s workshops and open studio events, and take part in wet felting a life-size vagus nerve (don’t worry, we’ll teach you everything you need to get involved).

Please RSVP to attend the opening, but tickets are not required. Drop in for part or all of the event.

About the Personal Watersheds Show

On view from July 18 through and all summer, Personal Watersheds features artist Sarah Nassif’s personal work in fiber and video, collaborative pieces, and a working indigo dye and fiber art studio, all at the MWMO gallery. Throughout the gallery space, community-made fiber art works become chair backs, tuffets, wall hangings and decoration. Get your hands involved with interactive exhibits: spinning fiber, weaving on a loom, felting wool, folding and binding cloth to make patterns, and dyeing with indigo. Grab a portable chair and head down to the river’s edge to craft, read or relax outdoors.

Summer workshops will be hosted by the artist and volunteers from prior Weaving Water workshops. Interested in volunteering? Add that to your ticket, and we will be in touch.
